In my10+ years of planning weddings, I have had more than a few conversations about the budget. From time to time, couples find themselves faced with the decision to re-examine their budget and choose fewer OTT elements to celebrate their big day. The one position I rarely witness is couples who decide to scale back their guest numbers to get what they really want. You know, the additional flowers and decor, the gold-plated china, a live jazz band or string orchestra, or an entire evening of free-flowing bubbly. I’m not sure when we will see 200 + guests at weddings again, but it doesn’t mean that a couple cannot have a beautiful OTT event – complete with the bells and whistles.

Micro Weddings are trending now from necessity, but they present a unique opportunity to realise all the design and experiential elements that you can dream of in an intimate setting. Well, maybe not all of them – but most of them. A micro wedding is an intimate event with no more than 50 attendees. You can read more about that here to see if a Micro Wedding is for you.
